Massive-MIMO Air Interface Simulator

XCAT-MAIS (Massive-MIMO Air Interface Simulator) is a real-time, versatile system simulator that includes 3G/4G/5G channel emulation and logging/analysis tools. It enables system engineers to verify performance across 2G, 3G, 4G, and 5G cells and UEs by consistently and repeatedly generating diverse field environments in the lab.

Key Features

Automated self-calibration to ensure CR satisfaction (5G)

User-adjustable amplitude and phase control

Real-time monitoring of BS/UE inputs and outputs at each RF port

User-defined scenarios with configurable channel conditions

Automatic or manual call setup options

Selectable KPI logging with advanced analysis tools

Easy system expansion through additional slot cards

Applications

Perform 2G/3G/4G/5G channel emulation in a controlled lab environment
Measure and evaluate cell performance
Compare cell performance based on user-defined criteria
Verify algorithms such as multi-UE scheduler, FFR, CoMP, IRC, and ICIC/eICIC
Validate system capacity in multi-cell/multi-UE, cell-edge, and mobility scenarios
Conduct package verification prior to customer release
Troubleshoot efficiently by reproducing issues quickly
Log and analyze key metrics such as SINR, RSRP, RSSI, transmit power, RB/MCS, and throughput CDF
Optimize system parameters across RRC, MAC, and PHY layers
