Net Time Power is a synchronization node compliant with IEC 61850 and delivers PTP over PRP together with several clock options such as NTP, SyncE, 1PPS, ToD, IRIG B and more. It is designed to meet every timing requirement in utility substations. The system also incorporates Power and Telecom PTP profiles as well as a Rubidium oscillator.
Net.Time makes the delivery of timing more efficient and enables seamless integration of the existing infrastructure to ensure accurate control, reliable protection and precise data acquisition.
The new standard establishes a collection of protocols and network architectures designed to synchronize operations, measure performance, exchange data, issue commands, and safeguard the grid.
Protocols include Sampled Values, Generic Object Oriented Substation Event, and Manufacturing Message Specification that are applied for control and data acquisition.
Fault tolerant architectures are supported by Parallel Redundancy Protocol and High Availability Seamless Redundancy which guarantee continuous and dependable network operation.
Time synchronization is achieved with the Precision Time Protocol (PTP) and the Simple Network Time Protocol (SNTP), keeping the grid aligned in time.
