The AGR420 is a high-performance 25GbE aggregation router featuring a fixed configuration of 64 × 10G/25G SFP28, 8 × 100G QSFP28, and 2 × 100G QSFP-DD interfaces (supporting high-power optics and backward-compatible with QSFP28). Its External BCM16K Lookup Engine in a 2RU compact design allows deployment as either a disaggregated or standalone router. The BCM16K Knowledge-Based Processor (KBP) delivers high-speed rule processing for telecom applications, providing network awareness, real-time routing updates, and enhanced functions such as packet classification, policy enforcement, and forwarding.
Powered by Broadcom StrataDNX™ Qumran2C silicon with an external lookup engine, the AGR420 is designed for versatile use cases, including OpenBNG, 25G pre-aggregation routing, Provider Edge (PE) routing, or data center TOR switching/routing.Preloaded with the Open Network Install Environment (ONIE), the platform supports flexible installation of Network Operating Systems (NOS), from open-source Open Network Linux (ONL) to commercial NOS solutions.
