The µFalcon-MX/G is a compact and powerful Edge Grandmaster and Gateway Clock, designed with integrated service aggregation and demarcation functions. It combines advanced timing features with Carrier Ethernet services, delivering precise synchronization alongside high-performance transport.
Built to meet the growing demands of modern networks, the product provides extensive support for timing and synchronization across a wide range of applications. Built-in GNSS, timestamp engines, and packet response functions give the µFalcon-MX/G strong and consistent operation.
The µFalcon-MX/G delivers full support for Precision Time Protocol (PTP, IEEE 1588v2), Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE), and NTP-based timing services. It also integrates a wide set of interfaces, such as 10/100/1000BaseT and optical options at 100/1000/2500M/10G, with compatibility for all standard SFP modules. This combination offers unmatched flexibility in both connectivity and deployment scenarios.
Designed for multiple timing applications, the µFalcon-MX/G is particularly suited for mobile backhaul and fronthaul in LTE and 5G environments, supporting both macro sites and small cell deployments.
The extensible hybrid hardware platform, built on ASIC and FPGA technology, ensures high performance while allowing adaptability to diverse requirements. Its Ethernet service capabilities, fully aligned with MEF standards, are powered by an advanced timing-aware switching core.
The µFalcon-MX/G supports the full range of MEF-defined services, including EPL, EVPL, and ELAN. Service resilience is maintained through robust protection mechanisms, based on ITU-T G.8031 and G.8032, covering link, path, and ring topologies.
